Registered Social Worker

Whether you are struggling with something or just feel the need to talk, speaking to an impartial and skilled professional can help.

Hi, I’m Diana, a registered social worker in Toronto, Ontario with over 17 years of experience. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, providing parenting support, and therapy for domestic violence survivors.

Are you feeling that hanging out with friends doesn't feel as easy as it once did? Maybe you have struggled with anxiety and the thought of going to school was overwhelming. Maybe you have felt depressed and something as simple as taking a shower feels difficult. Maybe you rely on substances to try and combat some of the emotions you are feeling.

Sometimes it can feel like you are the only one feeling this way and you might feel like there is something wrong with you. There isn’t anything wrong with you. Sitting down and talking about the problems you are experiencing and the thoughts you might be having can help. We can come up with unique strategies to help you cope.

My Approach to Therapy

In order for therapy to be effective, there has to be trust between the therapist and client. You have to feel comfortable talking to me. Whenever I start working with a new client, I follow their cues. Some people like me to ask them questions, while others want to tell me their story right away. The bottom line is you’re in control. It’s just you and me in a safe space where you can talk openly about your feelings. I promise to listen with compassion and without judgement.

I have a client-centred approach to therapy, which means we work at your pace with your goals. You are the expert in your own life, and I am here to support you and provide strategies that can help ease the burdens of your mental health struggles.

You are the expert on your own life, my job is to support you as you navigate through this challenging time.

Approaches Used: CBT, Feminist Counselling, Strength Based, Solution-Focused, Trauma Focused, Trauma Informed, Compassion-Focused, Client Lead
